BIO
Alicia Morote graduated in Music Composition with Honors at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid in 2014, and soon in 2015 she was awarded with a scholarship from Berklee College of Music to take her Master's Degree in Scoring for Film, TV and Video Games at Berklee Valencia Campus.
She has worked as a composer in productions such as “The Blue Star”, directed by Javier Macipe; "Mr.Nadie" directed by Miguel Ángel Calvo Buttini and produced by Twin Freaks Studio and RTVE; “Lucía”, debut of actress Marta Etura as a director, or "Un País en Danza", TV series for La 2 channel from RTVE. Additionally, Alicia has worked as an orchestrator and music preparer in productions such as "The Room Next Door", “Pain and Glory” and “Madres Paralelas” by Pedro Almodóvar, “Centauro”, by Daniel Calparsoro, and “Cristóbal Balenciaga”, a Disney+ series directed by Jon Garaño, Aitor Arregi and José Mari Goenaga.
During these last years, Alicia has been working on very varied projects such as the soundtrack for the video-game "Bailando un Tesoro" for the Spanish National Ballet, launched in 2018. In this year, she won the 2nd prize in Montréal International Film Scoring Competition 2018. In 2022, she was awarded with the "VALE" Award from Berklee College of Music as a recognition to her professional excellence.
Alicia orchestrated the Disney short “Descendents 3: The Royal Wedding” and composed the soundtrack for the feature film “Emilia” (dir. Miguel Ángel Calvo Buttini), recorded by the Symphonic Orchestra of the Region of Murcia, for which she has won the "Other Musics" award in the Alfonso X Awards for the Culture 2023.
In 2024, Alicia was selected as one of the 12 composers from all the world to participate in the program Spot the Composer at Cannes International Film Festival 2024. Also in this year, her soundtrack for the film "Emilia" was performed in San Sebastian Film Festival by Euskadiko Orkestra. Lastly, she was awarded with the award from Cinespaña Film Festival for her soundtrack for "The Blue Star" along with Peteco Carabajal.
In 2025, the OSRM (Orquesta Sinfónica de la Región de Murcia) premiered her work "Sigh" to great acclaim, after it had received a grant from the SGAE Foundation in 2024.
Alicia is currently composing the score for Arriba Tutto, directed by José Mota and produced by La Terraza Films, as well as the music for Todos los Colores, directed by Beatriz de Silva and produced by Atresmedia Cine.
